Default can't make a decision

hey y'all

I'm 18 year old freshmen at sheridan college, oakville, ontario. one of my main career goals was open a resturant or open a gym but one problem i can't pick. i was wondering if you can help me with the pros and cons on the two ideas and maybe its will help me to decide which is the best idea so i can start working a business plan...

thank for your time

Here's just one thought. Everyone eats. Not everyone works out.

Well yes everyone may eat... but I run a computer company and not every uses US (becuase we have competition) for their computer service. Yet we have expanded into a computer, communications, survallince/security camera, networking, office furniture wholesale/retail center, liquidator (we liquidate comapnies that are going out of business and go to auctions) and we also have consluting services, a photo/graphics division and a leasing center. - a service we offer is that we will redo your whole office and we will also knock out walls and redo the interior of the office too! - its just a service we offer.
We also have a enterprise which has a citrus stand, tree farm and packing/moving company.

Once again not everyone uses but we make millions of $$s. We are the largest buisness integrator in Central Florida.

Just what type of audience are you trying to target - families, women, men, etc.

--- You might want to start a nutrition store/resturaunt INSIDE your gymnasium (maybe?) ---

I've done the restaurant thing in the past, and wouldnt really recommend it. Its just alot of hard work, heavy reliance on staff/chefs and alot of headaches.

The gym seems like a better option. More and more people are becoming health conscious and working out is becoming popular.

It really depends on what you are more passionate about.

I think you need to ask yourself:

Do you want to help people have a great evening out at your restaurant or do you want to help people to get fit and active?

When considering that question consider your enthusiasm, your passion and what makes you want to get up and go... because as pointed out both industries are hard to break in to... hence the need for boundless enthusiasm... because that attracts people and will ultimately lead to your success.

Just a thought anyway

gym with a nutrition store /small restaurant with healthy (CHEAP) food will make it. salads/fruits and such will make perfect combination for a succesful business.

also i can provide you with a method that will allow fast recovery after working out - 5 minutes of a special roll massage in addition to the gym work out and the person feels like the day just started - at any time of the day!
