Auto Detailing in San Diego....
Currently I am a full-time college student majoring in Business Management. I am looking for a side job that can make me some money to invest so when I graduate college in a few years I will have a fairly nice investment started. I can not help but notice these Mobile Auto Detailers we have here in San Diego. They will detail anything from a motorcycle to an RV or boat. The price they charge for this is outrageous say for a full detail, wash/wax, vacume, tires and wheels shined and engine cleaned in over $150-$200. I see a big potential if a guy were to start and charge say $75 for the same service and mabe add some perks to it such as you sign a contract to have your car cleaned every week for 1 year its $30 a week. At $30 a week for one year would be $1,564.20 a client. I think the most important thing would be building a clientele. Say you have 20 people sign a 1 year contract that would be $31,284.00 a year just for a side business with low start up costs is not bad in my eyes. Many of these people who do have their cars detailed are older, wealthier people who have 3-4 Mercedes and want them immaculate so they have the mobile detailer come at least 2 times a week mabe even 3. I only want to wash and wax for a price of $15-$20 and interior cleaning for around $35-$40 My question is 1)Do you think this is possible to be profitable in this type of business? 2)How would be a good way to build a clientele? Any help is so greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this I know all of our time is valuable, John Mitchell
