Hi
Ho many of you use regularly Yahoo Groups for the promotion and how? What about Google groups and MSN groups? What do you think? Which is the best way to promote and what tools do you use? I can't wait to know your answer :-) Just a new by here. |

In many cases promoting with Yahoo Groups is like utilizing forums...
Provide excellent content related to the subject of the group and include links to recommended free viral reports, products, resources, etc. I normally just start in a group by doing everything I can to establish myself as an expert on the topic by providing the most informative answers to any questions they may have. The whole time I am keeping a database of the most asked question so that I can later on create an information product or report that recommends an already existing info-product that will cure the most common problems they are having. This can be a very time consuming marketing method (yet very lucrative), but once you get really good at it you can easily create directions on how it is done and out-source the work or have one of your existing employees take over the tasks. Good Luck, Troy

I agree with Troy. I haven't spent a lot of time on any of the groups sites myself, but I would agree the basic idea would be the same as it is for a forum. Find groups that interest you and also find groups where potential customers are likely to spend time.
Become involved with the group, not in an attempt to pitch yourself or your product, but to become part of the community and to offer good advice where you can. It can be time consuming and hard work, though usually the things in life that are harder to achieve often bring the best rewards. Troy creating a database of questions is a great idea idea. I sort of do the same on the forums where I post. Not so much of a database, but an informal list of questions that often become blog posts or new business ideas. And by the Troy welcome to the forums since I don't think we've chatted before. |
