Default which domain would you use?

I started with the domains pokerstore.net and pokerstore.ca

The problems with those, were someone will ultimately type in pokerstore.com.

I wanted a decent .com and paid a nice penny for pokersupplies.com which has been doing well for me. Ever since I obtained it, I stopped marketing under the old domains.

Here is the hitch..today, I acquired pokerchips.net ...also for a good price.

I know it's a .NET which greatly reduces its "flair" but by golly, it sure is memorable and very targetted...2nd only of course to pokerchips.com

would you continue submitting to SEs and such under the name pokersupplies.com or pokerchips.net?

TY for any and all feedback.

Are you pointing pokerchips.net to pokersupplies.com?

Actually it does not matter - submit both of them. The more traffic you get - the better right? But if you have two different websites - by all means submit them both. This is also assuming that you are not get charged for these submissions.

hey, Corey

Yes, pokerchips.net will point to my existing site..I was wondering more like...if I were to say run a radio ad...would you market the name pokerchips.net or pokersupplies.com?

I would advise against submitting the same website under different domains in fear of being blocked for spamming.

I have a few domain names that point to the same one - never had any blocked - maybe I am lucky?

For that type of market though - I would say pokersupplies.com - this would also seem to imply that you have more items other than poker chips

All my peers have shared the same sentiment..I'll go with the majority and stick with pokersupplies.com

oh well...I'm sure pokerchips.net will bring in some nice type in traffic

poker-chips.net is a fully developed site out of the UK with over 1,000 sites linking back to it.

When I first saw that you bought pokerchips.net I was thinking you must be nuts, anything other than .com is second-rate. Now that I see your point, that poker-chips.net is doing all the marketing for you, I see it's a good move (depending on how much you paid, LoL).

One thing you might consider, with all those domain names you own now, is using one of them to set up a content site. Build a nice content site with an eye toward pulling in search engine traffic, and heavily advertise your ecommerce site on it. You'll be able to take advantage of a lot of the free listings that content sites get around the net that ecommerce sites have to pay for, and all the inbound links will help you with your search engine rankings. Just don't make it a 'doorway' page, make it an actual stand-alone site.

I agree with Peter. I have a few clients that go out & buy domain names & they set up one age - I guess similar to a doorway page - everything points to the other (main) domain. They seem to get a lot of hits - costs a few extra bucks a year to have it but seems to be well worth it.

If you do doorway pages you risk being banned by Google (and maybe other search engines too). If it's a stand alone site that could exist without your main site, and you just heavily advertise your main site on it, then it's good.

those are commonly referred to as "feeder sites" correct?

I suppose I could turn pokerchips.net into a portal of sorts and heavily advertise pokersupplies.com on it, could also have a lot of referral banners to online poker sites, articles etc...hrmmm.....got some thinking to do I suppose.

One thing that you might consider & this is what I have done one one site where we offer hosting. Once they choose a hosting plan - it is then pointed over to our main site. Maybe offer to sell only poker chips on there and the point over to the other site. This will also help you with your merchant account as well. Even though you will not need a new merchant account for the new website. If you do decide to sell on the pokerchips site - just make sure your DBA is on there properly from the other site.
