Zoning

We live in an apartment, Zoning authorities said we should not do business from apt. ours is software and consulting....right now no clients will visit us home. Other than just a computer which we use for personal we don't have much activity. Zoning authority said that we should not have any mail coming to this address as well. We took a p.o.box for business. How do anyone do business....does everybody doing business have to live in individual home?? How can that be possibble? I welcome any of your inputs regarding Zoning
