Default Business registration: Please help! I'm lost

Hi everyone!

I'm planning on opening my own online shop and have some questions about registering this type of business.

I have looked at some sites dealing with this issue, but I'm completely lost.

To give a bit of info about myself, I live in Ontario, Canada, and I intend on selling to people living in Japan.

I have a few questions...
1) Is it necessary to register a business that is strictly done on a website?

2) Is this what I'd have to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about Canada, but in the US, yes, you need to register a business even if it's only conducted over the internet. Your government wants to be able to tax you on the income, so they want to know about it....

I think that you should talk to an attorney in Canada about setting up your business, because although, yes, you do need to register at the URL that you posted, I'm guessing (from my experience doing it here in the US) that there's more to it.

Hope that helps.
