pet wholesale

one of my wishes is to start a website/shop for/about dogs. how do i get a wholesaler? or, what exactly do i have to do?

hmmm you want a wholesaler for DOGS, i doubt you can get a wholesaler for animals.

Unfortunately, I doubt there is such a thing as a dog wholesaler... But I could be wrong.

However, I suggest you contact pet shops and try to learn who supplies them with their animals.

You might even want to approach animal shelters. They always have a "supply" of dogs.

Anyway, these are just suggestions.

pets are huge in the gift world ..so go to a big wholesale gift show and you will see tons of pet products....probably at hardware shows too...
you might search thru the chicago merchandise mart wholesale exhibitors list..or the atlanta gift mart, or dallas.... lots of big general companies have pet stuff, and it wouldnt be in their name...you need a resale number to get into those kind of shows ....the word i hear is dog people care about the breed.and cat people respond to about any cat product....
im pretty sure pet stores buy dogs wholesale...or worse...

From everything I've read you can make FAR more money selling pet products than selling pets. Especially if you sell things like cat toys which routinely get destroyed by the pets.

I think from the tone of the original post, mr fangs is wanting to start a dog supply shop or site. Right?

I started a pet supply business. you have to go to trade shows to find the vendors or the internet. but on the internet it is very difficult to find the first wholesaler because so many sites buy the same products and then offer them wholesale but at a higher price. Atlanta, Chicago, Vegas and New York have regular pet/gift trade shows.
