How would one go about this? Everyone says do what you like. Well i'm into and know alot about car stereo equipment and such. So i'd like to have a site and sell stereo equipment. How would one go about this?? Where do you start?

I posted this similar question in another thread but i thought it might be better in this section of the forum!

You will also need to hire a good web site design company that can really do a good job for you in regards to setting up a site that not only looks good, but is marketed well to your target market.

Do not try to cut corners on this as a bad and poorly designed site will only hinder you and your sales. get someone that can do it right and that can set you up with a good shopping cart feature.

You will then want a good identity system developed with a logo etc. so that you are consistently branding yourself to the client even after they are off your site. A consistent and strong brand image is very important.

I hope some of this is helpful to you. What ideas do you have for a name? What is your target market? Any thoughts on inventory and storage?

I would not buy wholesale on eBay. Use google.com and search. It took me 5 minutes to find at least 2 or 3 companies that do the wholesale thing. You will need a business license and a sales tax license to get into to their price system.

Get a decent website and a good domain name. Have somebody build a webiste if you can't do it yourself. You will need a credit card merchant account and a bank account. Check out Wells Fargo - they are pretty good in that area.

How about marketing? Have you thought about how bring your business to the market at all?

Start making a business plan. Then go to the SBA (Small Business Administration) and let them help you. It is usually free of charge. After that - look at the things mentioned before. Start with the business plan first and to the SBA.

Good Luck.

This could be good for you, as I know some people who have made thousands, yes I mean thousands just by buying and selling things bought on e-bay. So it is possible...

I've bought merchandise wholesale on Ebay to sell on a website before. Sometimes the prices you get at an Ebay auction are even lower than wholesale. The big thing to worry about on Ebay is the fraud. There's so much fraud on Ebay now, it can really cut into your profit margins if you're not careful.
