Default Best payment gateway?

Hello, all!

I have yet another question to ponder over.

What is, in your opinion, the best payment gateway to be integrated with the OSCommerce, which we've already set our hearts on?

We are a brick-and-mortar furniture store that is going online with its sales. Hopefully, we will have a large enough volume of sales right away to justify obtaining a MA.

What I'm looking for:

1. Lower fees; possibly, no set up fees.
2. As much fraud protection (address verification, CVV2 verification)
3. Possibly, in the future, ability to accept payments from several websites to the same account

So far, I've had AuthorizeNet recommended. Any other suggestions, please?

Thanks, guys!

i think OsCommerce comes with the authorize.net gateway already supported. Dont know about linkpoint but i'm sure there's a contribution out there that sets it up.

We do a TON of OSC work.

The Auth.Net contribution with te distro is buggy and requires some custom programming in most cases to get it working.
What does that mean? More $$ to get it working right.

Just something to consider.

If you go hotscripts.com you will find quite a few shopping cart solutions with authorize.net functionality build in. You can also find scripts just for authorize.net. OSCommerce is not always the best solution to go with.

Personally I use PayPal - it's good for preventing fraud, too. And I have the PayPal IPN module installed (using the OScommerce Loaded version) so it updates inventory and such.

Many peope will not use PayPal since they have to join. Offer both all options,
PP, Visa/MC and whomever you obtain your merchant account, find out whom they recommend works best with their processor.

Authorizenet.com is usually about $20-$30 a month with a $,10 transaction fee (on top of what the Merchant Account Provider (MAP) will charge. Auth also charges $20-$25 a month to use their recurring billing features. Some companies give you 250 free transactions and charge you $.05 after that.

LinkPoint charges are about $15-$30 a month with no extra transaction costs and no extra charges to use their recurring billing.

Netbilling charges 1.5% and $.15 or a flat rate of $.45 on top of what the MAP will charge you.

Verisign is about $20-$80 a month. They give you 1,000 transactions a month and then charge about $.10 per transaction. Recurring billing is about $30 a month

I like www.electronictransfer.com . They offer free set-up and free merchant account. Their gatway fee is $10 a month. And their monthly transaction fees are reasonable. You could check and see if they are compatible with OScommerce.
