Default Curves

Anyone have experience with Curves franchise? I'm just curious - I was researching franchises for my wife and thought it looked okay since it was low-cost to start, and didnt require owner to be present.

I heard its catching up with women. They are advertizing recently very wide.
It is a women only fitness place.
Women (out of shape) could work out with-out getting intimidated by other
fit muscly men and shapely beautifull women as we see at other fitness places like 24Hrs or Ballys

Curves appears to be growing at a nice rate - I've heard good things from people who have used it.

It may be a good time to get in before the franchose costs go through the roof (if they haven't already).

I looked at the franchise fee and initial investment required and it was "cheap" I think less than $20K - but obviously the operating costs would have to include rent and employees (2 or 3 employees) and advertising.

Well, so far the posts seem to have a good overall opinion of it. I guess it merits more study for anyone who might want to get into a franchise.
