Hi,
I am so confused with all the different forms and need advice for form 941. I am owner of S-corp paying myself salary and I have no other employees. Do I need to file form 941? I was told by the IRS helpline that if I have no employee then I do not need to file form 941 and that got me confused since I was paying myself as an employee. If my federal tax schedule is monthly and I started paying myself on May 31st, when is my due date for form 941? I formed my S-corp in April. I am really in need of advice. Thank you for all the advice. I really appreciate it. |

If the company which you own is paying you a salary (even if you're the one writing the check), the company classifies you as an employee. If you're paying yourself a salary, like you said you are, file form 941. It's filed quarterly. The next time you need to file is for the periods of April through June (which is the second quarter). You should be sent the form and include any pay between that period. This form would be due July 31.
If you're looking for the form and it's instructions, here it is: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i941.pdf - Instructions http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f941.pdf - Form |
