Default State of insurance for small biz

I am surprised that I haven't seen a number of topics on the biggest issues facing all of america, and it's an issue that faces both the individual without insurance or the small biz, health insurance.

For instance for my day job I work for a company < 250 workers and our monthly premiums for a family are $400+ per month PLUS the insurance that is offered is a very high deductable (2k / 6k max out of pocket). The business pays a little more for the premiums which makes the total montly cost over $1000.

As an aspiring sole-proprietorship I don't have many options, especially in the state of NY, to even purchase affordable health care and the options that are out there either stinks in coverage or carries a very high deductable.

With HC costs going out of control what options are there to ensure a small business can even afford to stay healthy?

That is pretty good actually. Insurance is just getting more and more expensive. You can always talk to insurance brokers though and get more quotes. That might help.

I have primary insurance and secondary insurance now (about $300 a month) and I am still out of pocket $1,500 for the primary and not too sure about the secondary - it starts on the first
