Default Acctg help

Hi, I am a fairly new small business owner and new to this forum. I am having some challenges with the pre-packaged accounting softwares that I can find at the store (who shall remain nameless). I do not like the way the force some coding/posting that does not apply to my business. Is anyone else having challenges? If so what kind and/or how did you overcome them?

Thanks for your help.

Most accounting software can be adjusted to accommodate any business. You just need to find how to tailor it to your needs.

I've used QuickBooks Pro for several years now and I have been able to tailor it to several different types of businesses. It's very easy to delete accounts that are unnecessary and put in accounts that pertain to a specific business.

Default an idea...

I'd consider asking a CPA or enrolled agent to give you an hour or two of training on your accounting system (which I assume is QuickBooks). I used to do this with my tax clients, and usually found that with an hour or so help, someone was up and running in most cases.

Er, I 'm not angling for this work. You want to work with someone local. And I only have time to provide to existing clients...
