Default Who Wants to be a Business Writer?

I have a small regional business paper now, but am looking to start up a larger one in the not too distant future. I have several contributing writers, who aren't paid for their articles but do get a few lines to promote themselves at the end.

If you'd be interested in submitting a piece (500-700 words), shoot me an email. It has to be business related, upbeat, and read like an informative, entertaining article, not like an advertisement. It can be timely, but remember it's a monthly publication and your submission might not go in the very next month, so something with a several month "shelf life" would be preferable. I can't guarantee I'll publish everything I get, but I will archive, or post it on a blog for potential future use, even if I don't use it right away.

My target audience is the independent business person and those who admire them or would like to become one someday. IBM and WalMart get plenty of attention already. Bob's hardware et al, could use a few more advocates.

So writers, based in any part of the world can participate in this.

Please give some examples of past business topics if you don't mind.
Thanks.

See SouthSideBusiness.com, click on "View the Current Issue"

The articles from Sterling Campbell and Jim Boudreau actually come from their corporate websites. Laura Benjamin's and Captain Capitalist are originals. The article titled "Real Optimism in Real Estate was submitted by a local commercial realtor and edited by me. (no he didn't get to approve the edit, and he was very happy with it.)

Yes, anywhere in the world. So long as it's relevant to the independent business person.
