Hi everybody,
My business recently committed to producing a one hour weekly talk radio show about topics of interest to business owners and entrepreneurs. My question, is that I have 12 minutes of ad time to sell per show. What I'd like to know is if there are any brokers or even marketing firms that would be willing to purchase blocks of time for a discount. BTW, I didn't start the show so I could sell the ad time, it's just there, and I wanted to fill it up. Any thoughts? Talltom |

The first thing I'd do is line up a sponsor for the show. Give them intro and outro billboards and the first or last (their choice) commercial in each break.
Ok so how do you find a sponsor? Try and identify any and all businesses within the coverage of your radio station that would benefit from the audience your show will attract. Contact either their President or Marketing Director, tell them why you're calling and either set up an appointment to talk with them about the opportunity... or they'll refer you to their advertising agency. If they refer you to their agency. Ask to speak to the media buyer or account executive for their account. Be prepared to tell them about your show and your idea for them sponsoring it. Once you have a major sponsor you can then take a similar approach with other potential targets. Good luck |

Talltom,
Did you move forward with the show? Did you sell the airtime? I'm new to the site and didn't want to offer thougths on a probelm already solved. Jeff |
