Thumbs up Ideas Help Required

Hello all

I am a UK based soon to be unemployed Train Driver.

I will be receiving a small severence package but have to get earning pretty soon, I have a burning ambition to & and need to work for my self.

What I am looking for is some ideas from arround the world that may not be yet introduced to the UK, or even some simple suggestions on our you or people you know decided on and started a new business or service from scratch.

I will have to self finance any start up capital, so please take into consideration.

I have experience in a wide range of careers over the past 15 or so years inc; project management, train driver, prison officer, lorry driver, golf manager, event management, stock controller/auditor, warehouse management.

My hobies past & present inc; soccer, golf, snooker/pool, cricket, watching TV, surfing the net and dreaming of entrepreneurships.

welcome to the board. Sorry to hear about you losing your job.

For what it's worth, let me know if you'd be interested in reselling poker chips. Poker has increased in popularity and my Canadian dollar rates may attract you.

Apologies for the previous reply, put it down to finger trouble. Sorry to hear about your predicament but this happened to me a couple of years ago and the only way to get through it, especially if you dont benefit from a comfortable cash payout is to retain a positive attitude - this is your lucky break - time to work for yourself etc etc.

A potential revenue earner is to investigate the concept of affiliation programs - reselling someone elses product for which your receive a commission.

This wont necessarily replace a lost salary but it will help to supplement it, and if you strike paydirt will provide you with a comfortable lifestyle. Most affiliation programs are free and this is the route I used when my company told me I was superfluous to requirements.

Default interested in idea

Bizzy, I am a student at BYU and am looking to start some sort of small business or income for myself and get experience in the field that i am studying. i am interested in your idea of selling poker chips. i looked at your poker store website and i would like to hear more about it. cory
