Default best inventory software for a small grocery?? I heard excell is the most widely

I am trying to pick a good but affordable software that can handle inventory, expenses and invoices for a small grocery and meat market. Me and a friend who has a larger discount store are shopping for one. Someone told me excell was the best but I wanted a plug and play, userfriendly but powerful software.also something as durable as excell.please help!!

Give a look at Peachtree.

I always recommend Quickbooks first, then Peachtree. Quickbooks has more functionality than Peachtree, but for straight accounting they're about tied.

Peachtree is much better when it comes to inventory tracking. Otherwise, I would recommend Quickbooks.

quickbooks is probably what you should use if your business is pretty small and you want an inexpensive solution.

The next step up after quickbooks and peachtree is microsoft's great plains. SAP has a small business platform now as well but I dont know much about it. These will probably land you at the $25k-100k range depending on your business size but they'll do everything.

I forgot about Great Plains. That is definitely the best inventory tracking, but may not be cost effective. Philip's correct though, it is a great option.

Looks like they have a demo you can download on their site. Might be worth checking out.
