Wanting to create a section of my site where customers can design t-shirts online. Many sites have this technology. Wanting to know how hard this would be to create, how much i would have to pay.

It involves uploading or selecting images to insert on a image template, resize image, add text, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure if your worried about it but your site doesn't display correctly in Mozilla Firebird. I also found it a bit difficult to navigate. You may wish to investigate purchasing a storefront product like miva merchant or using a free solution like oscommerce.

As for your question. I don't think it would be too difficult or expensive to include a simple script to upload images for custom t-shirts. If you want a script with more functionality than that you may be looking at somethingquite a bit more expensive.

I don't know if you have a webdesigner or if you're the web desiger but hotscripts.com is a great place to find solutions. They list both free and commercial scripts.

Have you seen cafepress.com? Take a look.

I hope I've helped!

You could use javascript to do an online t-shirt creator quite easily or even a more advanced one with perl.

Default Design Studio?

Thanks for the help guys, I know that it's possible. Some of our competitors have great sites out there that are actually where the concept originated from. I, unfortunately, am code illiterate (ie. Cafe Press. Cutom Ink and others). Therefore, unless theres a simple plug in appplication, i would have to have it created for me. What would it cost me to do such a thing.

That depends on a number of factors. The first of which to consider: price vs. quality. If your budget is infinitesmal, start looking at India off the bat. If you have already allocated a lump of funds, then you should start sniffing around for US or UK developers.

Kind regards,

Default Price vs. Quality

When you talk about quality, i assume you mean features and reliability. I am looking for something with the same features as customink.com. The interface must be attractive and easy to use. The system must be reliable and graphically accurate. Other than that i'm open. How would i go about finding a developer i could trust? Am i looking at thousands of dollars? hundreds of dollars? What ballpak am i in??

Again, thanks for the guidance guys!

Try posting your project on www.elance.com and have a bunch of designers bid on your project (and you're under no obligation to go with one of them if you don't see any quotes that you like). That will at least give you an idea what you have to pay... and then you can negotiate prices as well. Good luck.
