I've been developing websites for a few clients, something around one or two a year. Recently I decided to get a dba name as well as open up a business checking acccount.
A few forms I've filled out have asked for my business start date. Would it be appropriate to put the start date as a recent date since thats when I opened up the checking account and filed a dba, or would it be when I initially started designing web sites for companies (although it was just a few a year)? |

To be on the safe side I would use the date you registered your dba. Some will ask to see the certificate for proof so better to use that date.
