The Princess Bride => Billy Crystal => City Slickers (1991)

Can you feel the power? Oh what a rush, but with great power comes great responsibility as Uncle Ben would say.

I'm thinking lav has taken a break for the holidays. He's probably taken less time away from here than most of us so he's certainly entitled. Maybe he's working out odds for another bet.

I wasn't planning on adding The Pacifier to my list of movies I need to watch. I imagine though if I ever catch it on TV the name will ring a bell and I'll recall this thread and at the very least start watching it. I make no promises about watching till the end though.

City Slickers - Jeffrey Tambor - Dr. Doolittle (1998)

I can feel the power. I'm awed by your control of the forum. Make sure you remember us little people when you're worshipped by millions. Although if you can find millions of people to worship someone who moderates a business forum, you have way more going for your than your powers as a moderator. Not that you aren't an awesome moderator, but it's not usually a job that inspires a lot of worship.

O.k., I'll quit that discussion now.

Every time I hear "The Pacifier," I picture an infant with that thing in its mouth. And then I picture Vin Diesel holding that infant.

Dr. Doolittle - Kristen Wilson - Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002)

Somehow, I like the fact that the thread title has nothing to do with what's going on inside it. Even though that goes against my copywriting instincts, which say that headlines and titles should have something to do with the matter underneath or within them.

Hey I just realized that Dale King & that Suzanne Pacher/Poacher/Pecher whatever her name was are banned.

I saw why Dale was banned...but why was Suzanne? Mind you her behaviour seemed really weird whenever she was commenting to Dale's comments.

Also, I refuse to post a chain to that movie thing on sheer principle.

Yum, George Clooney.

That is all I have to say at this time.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? => John Turturro => Hannah and Her Sisters (1986)

O Brother, Where Art Thou? What a great movie. I missed it in the theaters and then one weekend happened to catch it on TV. I'd heard the title, but had no idea what the movie was about. In fact when I started watching I don't think I knew what I was watching. The movie just hooked me from the first.

I thought it was about time for the rules again.

THE RULES

We are now playing a version of the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" except you don't have to end up at Kevin Bacon. It works like this:

Start with the last movie that was mentioned in the post before your current post. This is your starting movie. Select an actor from that movie, making sure it is not the same actor that was mentioned in the post prior to your current post. Once you've selected an actor, end your post with another movie that actor was in.

EXAMPLE:

For this example we'll make the starting movie Sister Act.

Whoopi Goldberg was in Sister Act. She was also in Ghost. So the chain you would post would look like this:

Sister Act- Whoopi Goldberg - Ghost.

The next person in line would pick another actor from Ghost and name another movie in which that actor starred and so on down the line.

If you pick a movie which has had multiple versions please specify in which year the version you are referencing was made. If you are not sure of the year, we do allow the use of movie databases like IMDB or Moviegoods. These sites are also useful for finding the casts of obscure movies.

Also, please keep in mind we encourage commentary while we play the game, it makes the whole thing more interesting

Shampoo - Goldie Hawn - Cactus Flower (1969)

I've always liked Oh Brother, Where Art Thou too Vangogh. I really need to get a copy of it. Also, the soundtrack is awesome. My Dad has it, and I've been meaning to buy it for a while.

My Dad and some of his friends did a Soggy Bottom Boys impression at their local bar one night. I guess it brought the house down.

Sean, no big New Years plans, but then I usually don't make any. I like to start my year with quiet and contemplation.

Wow, that makes me sound really boring or really introspective, I'm not sure which.

I was mostly kidding about the thread title, but this one is OK. If we change it too much, how will we recognize it?

I never saw Private Ryan or O Brother, but for whatever reason, I did see The Pacifier. You'd have to see the movie to know why they used that title. It was a funny movie though.

No real big New Years plans here either. We did go to a big local event for 2000, but for several years now, our family gets togther with another family so we see each other at least once a year. We've all known each other about 25 years, so it's become a tradition to get together on New Years Eve.

I'll rejoin the movie game later. Happy New Year everyone!
