Default solo ads - I'm so frustrated here

I've heard alot of good things about ezine solo ad mailings. But having tried more than one ezine, with different products, i've been burnt more than once.

I actually earned less than I invested.

What do you guys think about solo ad mailings as an advertising tool for "home based business opportunity" products?

For effective marketing you need to have people see your ad more than once. Solo Ads may be effective as an introduction, if you follow up with more ads to the same group in other ways or if you have a really compelling offer that gets them on your list to start a relationship with you (so that they are exposed to your business that many more times).

You may be experiencing issues if your freewebs site is the your primary business website. It says (to your target market) that you aren't as successful as you are claiming to be since you aren't investing in your own website.

I've used solo ads in the past with excellent results. The key is advertising in the right ezine, and to the right audience. If your ad isn't targeted to the right audience, it's not going to work, regardless of the product or how well written the ad is.

Thanks for the input.

I like the idea of using email solo ads to build my list. I never really thought of that. I could focus more on harvesting leads i guess. then look at them as long term potential customers.

Absolutely, I think emails will definitely be more cost effective for you. And with RadioGirl's response, I think a website like a ssamekul.com or a .biz would work well for you.

I can help migrate your website to a domain if you for free if you need any help. give me a PM

Audience targeting is everything, even if you have
to pay a premium.

Match you message to the audience.

The internet has lots of free/ reasonable resources. You can set up a webpage for free, do voicemail, email, and I think you can even find a free email marketer, try freelance forums...just use google or yahoo.... make sure to find a good search engine optimization as well

Hi ssamekul,

If you want to set up a business website at min cost, here's a few links I've used:

You can register a domain name through Yahoo at the moment for US$1.99 (even dotcoms).
http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/
The catch is you can only do this once a week, and only for the first year but it would be great for someone starting out who wants to test the waters on a website concept.

Then check out http://www.free-webhosts.com/. It's a directory with info on free webhosting deals. I've used them to find hosting for one of my sites.

Hope this helps,
Jane

The selected, targeted audience viewing the ads and reading through the messages too is very important.

For example, if you are going to see products for the holidays, the selected people at email newsletter services interested in the shopping season can be your potential buyers.
